UPDATE: WRITE A LETTER TODAY!
Dear Governor Pataki,Please support Downtown Bronx Eco Development Corporation’s application for funding from the Land and Water Conservation Fund. They have applied for State monies for years now. The local waterfront hosts four NYPA power generators and several waste transfer sites, while the neighboring communities have the highest rate of asthma in the country and no official access to the rivers. With the resources from the LWCF, DBEDC can work towards their community-led vision of a waterfront park, pier, marina and street-end access that will provide recreational and cultural value to the metropolitan area, enhance sustainable economic development and protect the environment. Thank you for building on your record. Please respond in writing to my address below. See the What You Can Do section to print and mail a letter, which is very effective.
